Deleting error line instead of fixing it

When I see people discarding some of our age old habits as mere
superstitious, I am tempted to interrupt and inquire why they are saying that and what kind of research or exploration they have done to conclude so. In most cases if you observe there won’t be any proof or logic behind that. Of course there are loads of rituals and habits we follow generation by generation , centuries after centuries. Some of them we know the answer right away, some we might have found out by experience and some is not relevant for this age. This is how the cycle works , but problem comes if some people immaturely just discard the rituals we are following without even understanding why it was followed. Just because they don’t believe or like it , its not working for them , impose their ideas to others as well.

It may sound easier to discard it or life may get easier without those rituals for this moment. But on a longer term, we don’t even know why what ritual was followed why it is not applicable in out c
urrent time. What can be done to achieve that benefit and make it work for our generation ! Most of us don’t have any curiosity or time or patience to explore the truth. Thats absolutely fine , but discarding without investigation is big error! For e.g. if you observe there are lots of festivals and gathering formulated during the winter seasons than summer. People are prone to depression ,loneliness during the dark winter time than the summer. Arranging such festivals and gathering cheer each other helps to avoid these lonely feelings. Another common one is treating ourself with good food on some special occasion rather than having heavy food everyday. I would like to explain one of my college day experience which I remember every time I see these kind of behaviour.
During my college days we had a competition to debug and correct the code to achieve the desired output. I was a computer science student , but minimum knowledge in computer or software. I had the aspiration to do something great in my field, but coming from a remote village had a little exposure to know how to achieve it .
So you can understand how much coding knowledge I had. Well…… , in the competition I started deleting all the line of code which created the error. Slowly the number of errors in the program got reduced and I successfully compiled the program. It showed no error and …. no result as well! Because I have removed all the necessary code that was supposed to generate the desired result. I should have checked the code line causing error and fix where it went wrong and compile it and not delete it.
I accept I did not have that much knowledge or maturity how to approach that problem. But after all these years when I think about it I laugh at my self what I have done .
Coming to the point , this is what most of us are doing when discarding some of or old rituals in the name of superstitions.
We need to have good thinking about it. We may lose valuable resources and information by concluding as superstitious instead of exploring what’s the reason behind it.

good point you came up with, Lakshmi! There is a valid reason for the traditions we follow and simply saying its superstition is not an answer. There should be proper research to learn why they were implemented.
It's great writing priya. Nice...
Great writing✍️... Looking forward for more explanations 👍
